Miss Massachusetts is Crowned Today!

This week, competitors for the Miss Massachusetts crown have been gearing up for the main event. Tonight, we get to see who comes out on top!

Unfortunately, today also marks the end of Jillian Zucco’s reign as Miss Massachusetts. I’m sure we’ve all enjoyed watching the past year as Jillian represented the Bay State with a style that will be hard to duplicate. Section 36 was fortunate to have Jillian visit with us in April, and it was one of the highlights of the year. I’m sure you’ll all join Section 36 in congratulating Jillian on a job well done!

Miss Massachusetts 2017

With an ending, comes a new beginning! Among the amazing young women working towards Jillian’s title are several who have previously visited with us at Section 36. As always, I like to point out which competitors have been interviewed.

How many of them are there competing this weekend?

Incredibly, ten!

Tonight ten young women who will be giving it their all this weekend have previously visited with Section 36! It’s so flattering to see so many members of the Section 36 family together on one stage.

If you need a reminder of who you should be cheering for, here’s the list of visitors:

Miss Plymouth County 2017

Olivia Clark
Miss Bay State 2018

Madison Cota
Miss Boston 2018

June Klemmer
Miss Bay State 2017

Miss South Coast 2017

Alyssa Maitoza
Miss Bristol County 2018

Miss Collegiate Area 2017

Sabrina Ponte
Miss Cranberry Country 2018

Meghan Rubadou
Miss Central Massachusetts 2017

Chrissy Sardano
Miss Freedom Trail 2018

With that number of top quality contestants, I like the chances of a Section 36 visitor walking away with the Miss Massachusetts crown. I would definitely love to see that happen again.

Good luck to all the visitors competing this weekend!

Miss Exeter and Miss Stratham are Crowned Today!

Today, one of the incredible women competing for the Miss Exeter and Miss Stratham crowns will take their next step towards their dream job, and earn some amazing scholarship money along the way.

I’m sure you’re all joining Section in excitedly waiting to see who takes home the crown!

But, with a new beginning comes the end of the reign for current Miss Exeter, Alainna Belanger.

Miss Exeter 2018

Alainna was awesome enough to visit with Section 36 in March. And did a great job. I certainly hope you’ll go back and reread her interview.

Section 36 would like to congratulate Alainna on a fantastic year as Miss Exeter. She’ll be a tough act to follow, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes her way next!

Congratulations Alainna, on a great year!

Miss New York is Crowned Today!

Today, one of the fantastic women competing for the Miss New York crown will learn that they will represent the Empire State in Atlantic City during the newly refurbished Miss America Competition!

Incredibly, even in New York, a former visitor to Section 36 will be on stage competing for the title.

In fact, today three visitors will be competing! You should definitely cheer extra hard for these three amazing young women.

Miss Upstate New York 2018

Emily visited Section 36 in February. Today she wears the Miss Upstate NY sash in her attempt at advancing.

Miss Finger Lakes 2018

Diana visited with us in January not long into her reign as Miss Finger Lakes.

Miss Bluebird 2018

Baylee visited with us just last month representing Miss Bluebird.

Three Yankees fans. Can you believe it?

All of these women have done fantastic jobs, and would make a wonderful Miss New York. A Section 36 visitor has never won the Miss New York crown, so I certainly hope it happens this year!

Good luck Emily, Diana, and Baylee!

A Busy Crowning Night for Section 36 Visitors!

The beginning of summer also means that pageant season is in full swing! As such, it seems like every night there is another state or local title being given away. Tonight is certainly no different. And, with the incredible number of titleholders who have been nice enough to visit Section 36, there always seems to be a forever visitor going for a crown, or giving one up. Again, tonight is no different.

With the crowning tonight of Miss Maine, it means we'll have to say good by to Katie Elliott's reign. Katie visited Section 36 in December, and gave some of the most passionate answers I've ever received. She did an amazing job representing the Evergreen State, and the next Miss Maine will have a tough time filling her shoes. Congratulations Katie on a wonderful year!

Miss Maine 2017

Also turning over her crown today in neighboring NH is Miss Littleton Area Reagan Murphy. Reagan visited Section 36 last September, and served her area with pride. She has held a couple titles in the New Hampshire north country, and they were lucky to have her!

Miss Littleton Area 2018

While some reigns are ending, others might be beginning. Tonight, the Miss Pennsylvania crown is handed over. While nobody has visited Section 36 with that title yet, things could be different. The beautiful Meghan Sinisi will wear the Miss Laurel Highlands sash on stage to try and bring home the Miss Pennsylvania title. Her visit in April was so amazing. If you missed her Final Four story, you really need to go read it. We wish her the best of luck in tonight competition!

Miss Laurel Highlands 2018

It's definitely one of the best parts of having done so many interviews. Section 36 forever visitors are always doing amazing things. It's so much fun to watch!

So thank you Reagan and Katie! And good luck Meghan!

Miss Greater Derry is Crowned Today!

Today, one of the amazing women competing for the Miss Greater Derry crown will take one more step towards their dream job, and earn some amazing scholarship money along the way.

I’m sure Section 36 joins all of you in excitedly waiting to see who takes home the crown!

But, with a new beginning comes the end of the reign for current Miss Greater Derry, Sarah Tubbs.

Miss Greater Derry 2018

Sarah was gracious enough to visit with Section 36 in April. I certainly hope you’ll go back and reread her interview.

Section 36 would like to congratulate Sarah on a fantastic year as miss Greater Derry. She was everything you could ask for. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes her way next!

Congratulations Sarah, on a great year!

Miss Connecticut Crowned Tonight!

Tonight, one amazing young woman will find out that she'll be representing the Nutmeg State at the newly refurbished Miss America competition! Somebody's life will change forever!

As has been the case a lot lately, there will be a couple former visitors to Section 36 gracing the stage tonight. I would definitely cheer a little extra hard for these two beautiful women.

Gina Salvatore visited Section 36 last August during er reign as Miss Bristol. Tonight she wears the Miss Tollard County sash.

Karla Aponte Roque visited Section 36 in January not long after she started her time as Miss Southington.

So, Section 36 would like to wish both of them luck as they compete tonight! A Section 36 visitor has never gone on to win the Miss Connecticut crown. I certainly hope that happens tonight!

Good luck Gina and Karla!

Eating Pizza and Helping Kids. Still a Great Combo!

She’s doing it again! As I’m sure you noticed in Sabrina Ponte’s visit with Section 36, she is passionate about helping others. It was one of the things that drew her to the Miss America Organization.
With that in mind, just a couple weeks ago she hosted a fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, the official charity of the Miss America Organization.

Well, she’s doing it again!

Tomorrow!

This time, her event will take place at Blaze Pizza at One Canal Park in Cambridge from 12-9:00 PM.. All you have to do is go there to eat, and present this flyer prior to ordering. You can even show it on your phone! If you do that, 20% of the proceeds from your meal will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network!

It can’t be much easier than that. You were going to eat tomorrow anyway, right? Probably a couple times at least. Why not do it at a place where you can help others at the same time?

So head down, and order some great pizza. Lots and lots of great pizza!

Oh, and if you happen to bump into Sabrina, be sure to tell her how much you enjoyed her visit with Section 36!

And maybe buy her a pizza…after presenting your flyer!

A Night with Miss Rhode Island!

Right now, Alexandra Coppa seems to be living the dream. She was recently crowned Miss Rhode Island 2018, she was able to visit
with Section 36, and she’s now preparing for the newly formatted Miss America competition! Does it get much better?

But, for that last part she needs your help. Going to Miss America isn’t free, so Alexandra is holding a fundraiser to help get her there!

She’s inviting you to join her on June 24 from 6:00-9:00 for some pizza and laughs at Pub On Park in Cranston RI!

There will be food! (Provided by Pizzico Ristorante) There will be music! (Provided by Positivity is a Monster) There will be entertainment! (Provided by Bobby Braciola and John Perrotta’s Comedy Factory)

What more could you ask for? What a perfect way to kick off summer and show your support. You won’t want to miss it!

Tickets will be a $20 donation to help send Alexandra to Miss America this September. There will also be a silent auction to raise even more money.

To buy your ticket, check out the event on the Miss RI Org’s Facebook page.

And, if you bump into Alexandra there, be sure to tell her how much you enjoyed her visit to Section 36!
