How to Find the Perfect Dress with Help from Meghan Rubadou and Lady Black Tie!

I know.

It's daunting.

You need a dress for a competition, or an appearance, or a dance, or a party. None of the ones you have really seem to work. You need something new.

Of course, there are only about 36 million different combinations of colors and styles of dresses to choose from. How on earth do you begin?

Luckily, Meghan Rubadou is here to help. You probably remember Meghan from her interview with Section 36 not long ago. She teemed up with fellow friend of the blogs Lady Black Tie to make a video to provide some pointers before you get started. You should definitely check it out!

You should also be sure to follow Meghan on Instagram so you don't miss any of the other great content she provides.

And, if you're looking for a dress of your own, you should certainly start with Lady Black Tie!

Miss Connecticut is Crowned Today!

This week, competitors for the Miss Connecticut crown have been gearing up for the main event. Tonight, we get to see who comes out on top!

Unfortunately, that means the end of Bridget Oei’s reign as Miss Connecticut. I’m sure we’ve all enjoyed watching the past year as Bridget made Connecticut proud with a grace and elegance that will be hard to duplicate. Section 36 was fortunate to have had several wonderful interactions with Bridget over her year. She visited with us last July, not long after being crowned. We then all watched with awe as she went to Miss America and finished first runner up! Following that performance, Bridget was nice enough to write three guest blogs right here at Section 36 Pageants, about her time in Atlantic City for the competition. If that wasn't enough, she also provided what might be the best picture anyone has ever submitted (with a little help from K. Garcia Productions), shown below. I’m sure you’ll all join Section 36 in congratulating Bridget on a job very well done! With any luck, Section 36 will find more opportunities to work with Bridget in the future. I know I would be honored.

With an ending, comes a new beginning! Among the amazing young women working towards Bridget’s title are a few who have previously visited with us at Section 36. As always, I like to point out which competitors have been interviewed.

Tonight four young women who will be giving it their all who have previously visited with Section 36! It’s so flattering to see members of the Section 36 family together on one stage.

If you need a reminder of who you should be cheering for, here’s the list of visitors:

Erika Farrell
Miss New Haven County 2018

Monica Fenwick
Miss Tolland County 2019

Sylvana Gonzalez
Miss Greater Rockville 2019

Alyssa Sachs
Miss Shoreline 2019

With that number of top quality contestants, I like the chances of a Section 36 visitor walking away with the Miss Connecticut crown!

Also, Section 36 has a former visitor competing in the Miss Connecticut's Outstanding Teen Competition. We'll definitely be pulling for her as well!

Miss Fairfield County's Outstanding Teen

Good luck to all the visitors competing this weekend!
